We create sorbet using as few ingredients as possible to create a pure, delicious experience - there are no shortcuts, no fillers, just awesome flavor.
What is sorbet? The common definition is a combination of fruit, sugar, and water. At Detour, we expand upon that, by including a wide array of nuts, seeds, chocolates, coconut, and fruit. Our sorbet is completely dairy free, no eggs, or gluten. Detour is 100% vegan/plant-based.
We source all of our ingredients as thoughtfully as we can. Anything we can find locally here in Maine, NH, VT, we use. From foraging for rosa rugosa flowers along the beach, to strawberries from Brandmoore, and raspberries from Saltonstahl, the search for flavor never ends. And after 13 years spent living in the SF Bay Area, we also draw upon our farmer friends to supply us with some of the best citrus and nuts in the country.
Detour was born from over a decade spent at Bay Area farmers markets, eating, sharing, laughing, schlepping, trading, hunting for the most amazing produce available.
